Re-Elect Jeff Witte | House District 57B

Jeff Witte is in his first term representing District 57B, which includes most of Lakeville, in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

A servant leader at heart, he is a retired police officer, who served 27 years with the Burnsville Police Department, including time as a school resource officer and crisis negotiator. After retiring from law enforcement, Jeff served on the Lakeville Planning Commission, including time as chair during some of Lakeville’s most rapid growth.

During his time in the Legislature, he has earned respect on both sides of the political aisle for being a forceful and reliable advocate for law enforcement and first responders, including leading the charge to get school resource officers back in schools, fighting the growing problem of carjacking, and securing funding for Lakeville’s first responder training facility.

Rep. Witte also launched the “Law Enforcement 365 Initiative” to show Minnesota’s first responders that we have their back 365 days a year and not just in times of tragedy. At a time when law enforcement has been under attack by many elected officials, Jeff Witte is working to ensure those who step forward to keep our communities safe have the support they need to do their jobs well.

Serving on the House Tax Committee, Rep. Witte has fought to eliminate the tax on Social Security benefits, increase the property tax exemption for disabled veterans, and opposed increases in the gas tax and car tab fees. Understanding Minnesota needs to lower the tax burden on families and businesses, he also opposed every one of the $10 billion in tax increases passed over the last two legislative sessions.

In addition to serving in the House of Representatives, Jeff works in game day security for the Minnesota Twins and serves on the board of the Minnesota Thunder Academy.

A 32-year resident of Lakeville, Jeff and his wife, Jen, have three daughters who graduated from Lakeville Area Schools.
